I’ve done quite a bit of bragging on Lane these last few days.. but today he started in his first steps reading book. Wow I am gushing with pride! He has picked up words and letter sounds and letter shapes so well! I am tickled! I know each child is different! but Wow… it is so exciting to see him picking it up so easily!
I’ve put math on hold for a few weeks for Ethan and lane to get a hold of reading better… It’s so exciting to see the progress.

Did you know there were oceans in Iowa? well there aren’t… but it sure looks like it when WHOLE fields are flooded!
amazing… the water was TO THE ROAD…. and any more rain and this road will be flooded also. Thankfully we really aren’t close to anything. But many people are affected and many crops…..
cloudy days are the hardest for me to be thankful. I think it is because the sun isn’t out. I feel less motivated. Even things that would have made me laugh out loud yesterday I just don’t find funny today.
It’s annoying to me. lol I’m sure that helps! NOT!
anyway… so I’m looking for a something to be thankful and it hits me. i’m thankful I have YOU all… the people on the web and in my real life. I’m thankful that you are always here for me… even on the cloudy days. To root for me and cheer me on… even when I just wanna go back to bed. I think for some of you … there are cloudy days. And I am thankful that I can root for you and cheer you on… on your cloudy day! So today I’ll be praying for you all differently, I’m so THANKFUL for you! For all your gifts that you share with me. For the joy you all bring in my life. And if you are wondering… I’m talking about YOU and if you don’t know which gift well then ASK cause I’ll tell ya! :) hehe!

So we are doing school the other day and Lane was waiting for some help. All of a sudden he yells out… “MOM, THIS BOOK GETS HARDER!”
ROFLOL! :) ummmm… “Yes Lane it does! that’s how you get smarter! Each day the page teaches you a bit more and each day you get smarter! Isn’t that great!? :) ”
“oh um yes, I guess!” He replied!
Oh I get bored with the blog themes… :( I want to redo mine but can’t decide which color. I need a new header shot and maybe that would help! In the mean time. which do you think suits me better? Black or white?

I should’ve cropped it… It was a cool way to take our pictures I thought… it was the DOOR into the creation museum! :)
They have a patch of yellow and purple flower patches outside by all the bridges and I loved taking shots of the girls in their dressy dresses! :)
Ok I have to go to the store today. And I need to get my camera ready. We are doing a photo a day and need to get more shots! :)
When your van breaks down on vacation? Well you make the best of it and take pictures of course! :)
Obviously this was them towing away from our van…. the boys went with the tow truck the girls had to wait for someone to come and get it! It took a LOT of faith and trust that God had us covered to sit and trust and wait for a complete stranger to come and pick us up from that middle of nowhere gas station!
This is the girls and i waiting for our ride… it wasn’t long and the lady from the mechanics was SO NICE! Lilli F.L.I.P.P.E.D. when we got in the car tho. Oh my. I didn’t prepare her enough for riding with someone else! Poor love. She cried for 15 min. :( I couldn’t console her for A.N.Y.T.H.I.N.G. (thanks Tracy for that capital/period thing! LOL I love it! It’s so DRAMATIC! ;) )
